The military forces of the Allied Star Confederation are not merely a war machine. Their purpose is also to explore federal space, expand its borders, and understand the cultures and history of those inhabit it, as well as their neighbors, whether allies or enemies.

That's why there's the Confederate Interplanetary Diplomatic and Research Corps, or as it's popularly known, the Exocorp.

The Exocorp focuses primarily on humanities disciplines such as history, archaeology, and anthropology.

The exocorp is made up of archaeologists, linguists, historians and anthropologists, but also planetary scientists, cosmologists, doctors and all those disciplines that can help us understand the universe.

Technically, the Exocorp is not a military body and, in fact, is not subject to the General Command of the Confederation's armed forces.

The Corps is autonomous, led by the Supreme Directorate of Science at the University of Ruhus, which deploys the Exocorp wherever it deems most appropriate.

Since it is often necessary to rely on the navy or army, members of the Corps are placed under the command of a captain or colonel and classified as ensogns or infantry sergeants.
