Ivan Mishra - 530 CA

 

Ivan was born on the sacred Mother Earth, in the Southern Europe district, in the prefecture of Italy, in Rome. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the armed forces and went to fight against the Tnarxian rebels in the former Dominion of Zarnx and against the Covenant forces in the Pleiades Alliance.



His best friends are Alfredo Bo, a slightly older Navy captain whom Ivan considers a mentor; Rama Begun, his superior; and his best friend Beatriz Gan, with whom he shares a complicated relationship that is more than friendship but never quite becomes a full-blown romance.



At 20, Ivan, like billions of his fellow citizens, witnessed the death of the great leader of the Confederation, Admiral Kuwun. He was deeply shocked by this sudden death and the subsequent opposition protests.



Ivan is a fairly sociable young man who enjoys the company of his comrades and is not prone to rash actions or adventures. He feels very comfortable in the army, despite his family's desire for him to pursue an academic career.



He is stationed on Astarte Prime, the capital of the Pleiades Alliance, where the presence of the Confederate army is increasingly seen as a problem by the local population. Ivan is not a foolish or naive follower of the Order and Progress party's propaganda; he genuinely believed Kuwun was the only leader capable of maintaining state stability. Although he understands the Pleiadians' perspective, he wouldn't hesitate to fight them if ordered to do so.



The news that the fleet might be preparing for a coup makes him uneasy because he has many friends in the navy. In the event of an uprising, the army would likely be called upon to defend the institutions...

Forewords

  Forewords This setting was born from my love of space opera. Unlike other settings, this universe is playable with the Cepheus system, the rules for which can be found online (Cepheus SRD). In the next few days, I'll publish a general introduction and then begin with the setting's elements. For simplicity's sake, I'll group them by star state. This setting has a troubled origin. Initially conceived as a sci-fi fantasy, then transformed into an apocalyptic sci-fi, I redesigned it as a space opera, reminiscent of my sci-fi mythos. On Terra it was developed as a result of the need to move small fleets more quickly in the war against the Draedar. Drozan Confederate Officers

  The Drozans are native to the planet Druzular around the star Dagzal which humans call Sirius. Drozular is a planet with unique environmental conditions, with high levels of radiation due to Sirius's irradiation. Local life forms have had to adapt by building a carbon shield highly resistant to ionization and radiation. There are three major Drozan phenotypes, but in reality the coloration of their epidermis (essentially a layer of glass) can not only vary greatly, but also has no real ethnic significance and depends on external and internal conditions at the time of birth. Although sometimes mistaken for silicon creatures, Drozans are not mammals, they are essentially crystal life forms, but have two sexes with fairly pronounced sexual dysmorphism (though not quite like humans or Draedar).
